Slices are never consumed — they are an earning collection like any other, and always were. The wafers it hands out come from stock the desk seeded. When a recipe runs out of stock it closes until it is restocked.
Burning is permanent. Wafers and Dark Wafers are never burned. A bonded Die can be burned, and its bond dies with it — the $WAFER already spent on that bond is not refunded.
